New ELA Curriculum Inspires Young Learners
Rush-Henrietta is placing a renewed emphasis on helping students
develop strong literacy skills by using a new curriculum to support
these efforts at our K-6 schools. Amplify Core Knowledge
Language Arts, or CKLA, was founded on early literacy research
demonstrating the importance of wide-ranging background
knowledge and explicit and systematic instruction in foundational
skills. By combining deep content knowledge with research-based
instruction, CKLA helps our students develop both a strong
foundation in reading and an understanding of various subjects.
The diverse and fascinating topics covered in the program are
igniting their curiosity and nurturing a newfound love for reading.
We look forward to our students experiencing further success
with this curriculum, and thank you for your continued support!

of Education, asks Abigail, a student at Leary
Elementary School, about her reading progress.
R-H Named to 2025 AP School Honor Roll
We talk often about our district’s strategic plan, known as Vision 2037, and we are pleased to share more evidence
the district is making progress regarding the goals outlined in that important document. This is the latest example:
Rush-Henrietta Senior High School was named to the 2025 Advanced Placement Program Honor Roll! The honor roll
recognizes schools who have AP programs that deliver results and broaden participation for students. Schools may
earn this recognition annually based on criteria reflecting a commitment to increasing its school’s college-going culture,
providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. Increasing the percentage
of students enrolled in advanced coursework – including AP classes – is one of the measures outlined in our Excellence
for Every Student goal in the Vision 2037 Strategic Plan, viewable at www.rhnet.org/Vision2037. Congratulations to all the
teachers, counselors, and administrators involved in making these opportunities available for students. We also thank
our community for its strong support of our schools and students!
R-H Athletes Excel On and Off the Field
At Rush-Henrietta, we pride ourselves on developing well-rounded
students. One way we see that occurring in real life is through our
student athletes. We are pleased to announce that eight Royal Comet
sports teams earned the New York State Public High School Athletic
Association’s Scholar Athlete Status this fall! Students successfully
balance a commitment to excellence on the field and in the classroom.
To earn Scholar Athlete Status, at least 75 percent of students on
a team must maintain a GPA of 90 percent or higher during the first
quarter. Congratulations to the students (and their coaches) of the RushHenrietta Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Girls Golf, Girls Soccer,
Gymnastics, Girls Tennis, Girls Swimming, and Gameday Cheer teams for
earning this impressive honor. Keep up the outstanding effort! The latest
batch of Scholar Athletes was being named at press time. Watch our
socials and website for that information.
Winning championships is a worthy goal,
but so is becoming a well-rounded student
who succeeds in both academics and sports.
Congratulations to our high-achieving teams!
